‘Glenwood Active’ is the name of the Sport and Activity team at Glenwood Church. We want to help all people in our local community reach their potential, whether they are church-goers or not.

The Glenwood Active Runners 2010 running schedule is now up - for details click here. With 9 members successfully completing the 2010 Virgin London Marathon, the first half is pretty packed with a mixture of long training runs and fundraising events. Glenwood Church put on sport activities, team activities, creative activities and other events that are not just enjoyable, but challenging at the same time.
For we believe that life is a God given gift and that He desires us to be fit and active in all areas of our life.
The leaders of Glenwood Active are all followers of Jesus Christ, we believe that sport, activities and creativity is all part of God's creation. God has made us with the ability to compete in and enjoy sport and recreational activities.

We all know we should be more active than we are - we get reminded of it often enough. With daily news stories about rising obesity levels and the health problems associated, it's easy to see the benefits of changing our lifestyle. The answer is to get more active. There is scientific proof that taking part in varied activities gives you the motivation to increase your activity levels. Taking exercise shouldn't be a chore - there is plenty of evidence to suggest that the best results are achieved when people take part in an activity that they find fun.
